Later Davis appeals recommend book removals

February 3, 2026: 10 Things I Can See From Here, A Spark of Light, Bronxwood, Kendra and Romeo and/or Juliet: A Chooseable-Path Adventure each carry a plausibility review decision of "Removed from student access" and an initial objective committee decision to remove. The appeals committee recommended removing all five. For Romeo and/or Juliet, the rationale says the book directs readers to a website and that its printed text includes a description of sexual intercourse or sodomy that violates the objective criteria whether or not the website is counted.

The February exhibit says the committee met on December 17, 2025 to receive documents and January 20, 2026 to discuss recommendations. Board consideration was scheduled for February 3, 2026.
March 3, 2026: The initial objective committee votes for Body Talk (4:3), Rabbit and Robot (6:1), Rainbow Boys (5:2), Shadow of the Wind (5:2), Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls (5:2) and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (5:2) were all to remove. The appeals committee recommended removing all six.
April 7, 2026: Fight Club was removed by the initial subjective committee, 7:0. The appeals committee recommended removal, saying that in consideration of the book's content and its literary, artistic, political or scientific value for minors, the committee determines it contains subjective sensitive materials as defined by Utah law.
July 21, 2026: The initial objective committee removed Sybylline and The Sympathizer, 7:0. An appeal argued that the submitter had already reached the limit on unsuccessful requests. The appeal committee checked the dates, found the limit had not been reached and recommended removal.
