USBE votes Thursday to repeal educational equity rule. Email your board member and ask them to vote for the repeal. R277-328 has a loophole that allows Critical Race Theory ideology- the singular viewpoint that we are either victim or oppressor based on our race- in Utah schools. This does not align with HB 427 (passed in 2023). We support repealing the rule. Racism in every form should be rooted out from public education. It is our moral responsibility to teach children that it is their character that defines their potential, not their race or circumstance.
