And the first way [00:00:05] to decapitate [music] the dad and get [00:00:08] the dad out of the picture is what he's [00:00:10] been has been useful for him. Our [00:00:13] [music] schools are broken. They're just [00:00:14] broken in so many ways. And a lot of the [00:00:19] people in the school, they think they're [00:00:20] doing good. [00:00:21] >> From what I understand, you've [music] [00:00:23] working with Remnant Law. [00:00:25] >> I am. and you have filed a lawsuit [00:00:29] against the [music] school district. Is [00:00:30] that accurate? [00:00:31] >> Yes. I was very hesitant to do so [00:00:33] because um I'm a [music] conservative. [00:00:36] Conservative people don't go out and sue [00:00:37] people, right? I think we need to [00:00:39] re-evaluate [music] [00:00:40] our playlist. The Democrats use lawfare [00:00:43] against us [music] and it's it's pretty [00:00:46] effective. God does not want this stuff [00:00:48] accessible to children. We have to stand [00:00:51] and we have [music] to link arms with [00:00:54] each other. being willing to pay a price [00:00:56] even if it's your own life. It's [00:00:57] courage. [00:00:58] >> And it goes back to what I just said. We [00:01:00] are fighting on the [music] winning [00:01:01] team. [00:01:12] All right. Well, welcome everybody. I'm [00:01:14] excited for today's episode of the [00:01:16] Defending Freedom Show. I have a special [00:01:18] guest today, a dear friend, and uh it's [00:01:21] a woman of deep conviction, of deep [00:01:24] Christian faith. Um she actually lives [00:01:27] in a small uh town in the Hill Country, [00:01:31] and uh her story really began, it's it's [00:01:34] really incredible, but her story began [00:01:36] sitting in her hairdressers's uh chair, [00:01:39] and she saw a picture of something that [00:01:42] was going on in the schools, and she [00:01:45] couldn't unsee it. And it was from that [00:01:47] moment she knew that she had to get [00:01:49] involved. She had to do something. And [00:01:52] it's been a five-year battle for her. [00:01:54] It's taken her to school boards across [00:01:57] the state of Texas. Uh she's spoken in [00:01:59] hundreds of school boards at this point. [00:02:01] She's a warrior. She's on the front line [00:02:03] of this battle to protect children from [00:02:06] harmful material in our schools. And uh [00:02:10] she's also a legislative liaison for [00:02:12] Recover America. and she's actually [00:02:14] currently uh a plaintiff in a first [00:02:18] amendment federal lawsuit against [00:02:20] Houston ISD. And so I'm excited to [00:02:22] welcome our guest today, Miss Bonnie [00:02:25] Wallace. Hey, Bonnie, welcome to the [00:02:27] Defending Freedom Show. [00:02:28] >> It's a pleasure and an honor to be here. [00:02:30] Thank you, Colobby. [00:02:31] >> Absolutely. Well, thank you for coming. [00:02:32] And before we get into all this, I mean, [00:02:35] you know, before the court cases and the [00:02:37] school boards, obviously your faith is a [00:02:40] deep part of why you're in this battle, [00:02:42] but can you maybe take us back before [00:02:46] this, before that moment leading up to [00:02:48] that when you saw that in your [00:02:50] hairdresser's chair? Like what what was [00:02:54] your faith like? What was your walk with [00:02:56] the Lord like? Well, unfortunately, I [00:02:59] would have to consider myself as a [00:03:01] lukewarm Christian back then. Um, I [00:03:04] didn't know that I was. I thought that I [00:03:06] was fervent and zealous for God. But [00:03:09] looking back, I realize I was actually [00:03:11] an infant in Christ. You know, I was one [00:03:13] of those people. Now, I call myself a [00:03:15] Sunday Christian. I would go and for an [00:03:18] hour, I would worship and praise and [00:03:21] just really love on God. But when the [00:03:24] sermon was over and the service was [00:03:26] over, I would just wave, "Bye, God. See [00:03:28] you next Sunday. Have a great week." [00:03:31] >> So, I left him in the four walls of the [00:03:32] church, I didn't carry him into my life. [00:03:35] And I wasn't seeking him. I wasn't [00:03:38] listening to him. I wasn't asking for [00:03:40] guidance or I nothing only for that one [00:03:44] hour a week, which is quite pathetic. So [00:03:47] that's that's where I found myself um [00:03:50] when my book odyssey began. That's the [00:03:53] kind of Christian I was. Did I go to [00:03:56] church? Oh, definitely. Every did I [00:03:58] consider myself a Christian? Definitely. [00:04:01] >> But what I tell people now is it's like [00:04:04] the men that wear a pink skirt and [00:04:06] identify as a girl. That does not make [00:04:09] them a girl. [00:04:11] And so people that identify as a [00:04:13] Christian, but they have no fruits and [00:04:15] they do not live a life a godly a [00:04:18] God-seeking life, [00:04:20] >> well, just because you identify as a [00:04:22] Christian, it doesn't mean you're going [00:04:23] to get into the pearly gates, right? I [00:04:26] mean, the Bible tells us, [00:04:29] >> "Depart from me. I never knew you." And [00:04:31] so many of us will hear that. So, um, I [00:04:35] will not be one of them. Now, I'm [00:04:36] following Jesus. [00:04:38] >> Praise God. But it did take a a few [00:04:40] lawsuits and um a lot of bad books. But [00:04:44] um God refineses us by the fire, right? [00:04:47] >> And the only way we're going to be [00:04:49] refined is by fire. So when we have fire [00:04:53] in our life, we embrace it and we just [00:04:56] thank God for it and then um [00:04:59] he gets us through it. It's a beautiful [00:05:01] thing. [00:05:01] >> Amen. [00:05:02] >> Praise God. and and so and then so you [00:05:05] that was your life and then you go to [00:05:08] your hairdresser. [00:05:09] So, in June, July of 2021, [00:05:14] several friends of mine, not close [00:05:16] friends, acquaintances more, um they [00:05:18] were telling me, "Have you seen any of [00:05:20] the bad books?" And and this was in the [00:05:22] public library, the Atlanta public [00:05:23] library. You said schools in the intro. [00:05:26] Um which is kind of what I battle now, [00:05:28] but at the time it was it was the public [00:05:30] library. And I said, "No, I haven't seen [00:05:32] any." And months went by with this [00:05:35] conversation about what's in books, but [00:05:38] I had never actually seen any any [00:05:42] evidence. And so one day I'm getting my [00:05:43] haircut. It was November 10th, 2021. [00:05:46] >> And my hairdresser, a really courageous [00:05:51] godly woman. She loves God. She's young. [00:05:53] She's like 42. [00:05:55] >> And she said, "Have you seen any of the [00:05:57] pictures?" And I said, "No." And she [00:05:59] said, "Let me show you one." So she [00:06:01] whips open her cell phone and from the [00:06:03] you know picture page she has a picture [00:06:06] and um [00:06:09] it was from the book Gender Queer and it [00:06:12] was a picture of a [ __ ] um two [00:06:17] children engaged in a [ __ ] and I I [00:06:20] just like I could not believe it. I [00:06:22] could not believe it. I asked her, "Can [00:06:24] you text me that picture?" And she said, [00:06:26] "No, I will be sending pornography if I [00:06:29] send it to you." So I said, "Okay, put [00:06:31] it on your phone." And I with my phone [00:06:33] took a picture of her phone, the picture [00:06:36] on her phone. [00:06:37] >> And I went home and I um I created a an [00:06:41] email that I sent to over a hundred [00:06:42] people. And I attached that picture and [00:06:46] I said I sent it to every pastor I know [00:06:49] in Lano County. I sent it to the county [00:06:52] judge. I sent it to every business owner [00:06:55] and every parent I knew. Now, keep in [00:06:57] mind, my daughter Reagan had graduated [00:06:59] from Lo High School in May of 2019. So, [00:07:02] this is a few years later and um I don't [00:07:06] necessarily know a lot of people with [00:07:09] children in the school district, but [00:07:11] anyway. Um so, I sent this email out. [00:07:14] Everybody was blind copied and my my [00:07:18] email just said that we have a crisis in [00:07:20] Lano. Satan is after our children. See, [00:07:22] I knew that much. [00:07:24] >> I knew enough to know that this was a [00:07:26] spiritual battle. And so, I said, "Satan [00:07:29] is after our children. We need to be [00:07:31] having weekly prayer, maybe at the [00:07:33] courthouse square. Let's get together. [00:07:36] Let's invite God into our community to [00:07:38] protect the children of our community." [00:07:42] And so, um, that's how my odyssey began. [00:07:45] >> Wow. And so from there, [00:07:48] um, you did you put together a list of [00:07:50] books like how did you from that moment [00:07:53] like how did you take it into the Leno [00:07:55] County like the fight into the Leno [00:07:57] County? [00:07:58] >> Yes. So, so [00:08:00] earlier that year, uh, state [00:08:02] representative Matt Krauss, he's now a [00:08:04] Tarant County Commissioner, he had [00:08:06] published an email to every school [00:08:09] district in Texas, and he had created [00:08:12] the Matt Krauss list. And it was 862 [00:08:17] bad books, books that had um, sexually [00:08:20] explicit content. Some of them had [00:08:22] pictures, some of them just words. [00:08:25] They're equally bad, by the way. Um but [00:08:28] also a lot of CRT and um hating on cops [00:08:33] and hating America, hating your dad, you [00:08:36] know. Um listen, Satan is after the [00:08:39] children. He's after the family. And the [00:08:43] first way to decapitate the dad and get [00:08:45] the dad out of the picture is what he's [00:08:48] been it's been useful for him. It's been [00:08:51] effective for Satan. And um so all of [00:08:56] these things I went through the Lano um [00:08:59] county library catalog and a friend [00:09:03] helped me. She had been a librarian [00:09:05] there for several years and so she [00:09:08] actually cross referenced each book on [00:09:10] the Matt Cross list and we we found we [00:09:13] had almost 60. We had 59 books. And so I [00:09:16] also attached that email to to the [00:09:19] original email that list. These are the [00:09:21] the books that we have. And listen, um [00:09:24] the judge immediately ordered the [00:09:27] librarian to remove the the book with [00:09:29] the picture of and found others. And so [00:09:33] um a few months later in April of 2022, [00:09:37] that's when we were sued. the the county [00:09:40] judge, all four commissioners, the [00:09:42] library director, me, because I told [00:09:44] them about it. I'm like, "Okay, well, so [00:09:49] listen, God uses the hard stuff." And [00:09:52] that was not even the hard stuff because [00:09:54] >> the truth is we're fighting on the [00:09:56] winning team, [00:09:58] >> right? We we are going to win. It won't [00:10:00] be in the time frame we think, and it [00:10:02] won't be even in the way we think, but [00:10:04] we will have victory over, right, [00:10:07] >> this evil, [00:10:08] >> right? And so, so it's interesting. So, [00:10:11] you know, looking back now, I could see [00:10:12] where you're at today cuz I I know a [00:10:16] little bit about your journey, uh, where [00:10:17] you could look back and say that wasn't [00:10:19] the hard stuff. But at the time, you [00:10:21] know, you went from being this lukewarm [00:10:22] Christian [00:10:24] >> to seeing what was in the library to [00:10:28] actively saying, "Okay, I've got to do [00:10:29] something about this." And then when you [00:10:31] step in to do something, [00:10:34] then it's, you know, God puts you in the [00:10:37] fire and you get sued. [00:10:40] I mean, [00:10:42] how what was going through your heart [00:10:44] and your mind when you first, I guess, [00:10:46] got served or found out you were [00:10:49] >> Yeah. [00:10:49] >> Well, it's scary. [00:10:51] >> It's scary. Bob and I have um a personal [00:10:54] umbrella and so I wasn't at all worried [00:10:56] about it. I'm like, well, we have a [00:10:58] personal umbrella. It'll take care of [00:10:59] us. But when we actually sent it to the [00:11:01] company who had issued our policy, they [00:11:04] say, "Oh, volunteer work is not [00:11:05] covered." [00:11:06] >> And so I was volunteering. I was a [00:11:08] volunteer on the Lano County Library [00:11:11] Advisory Board. So I was appointed, but [00:11:14] it was it was a volunteer position. And [00:11:17] so I'm like, well, I mean, wow, that's [00:11:20] not very good. And a lot of people's [00:11:22] efforts are on volunteer work. And so I [00:11:25] think um yeah, so I you know, God has [00:11:31] blessed me with um a husband who planned [00:11:34] well and worked hard and so it wasn't [00:11:37] financially the scary part. It was just [00:11:40] just the whole thing. Then there was [00:11:43] another lawsuit. So one of the [00:11:44] librarians that was fired because she [00:11:47] kept putting these same 17 books back [00:11:49] into the children's section. Um, and the [00:11:53] the judge and the commissioners told her [00:11:56] repeatedly, I think 10 times, "Do not [00:11:58] put these books accessible to children." [00:12:01] She continued doing it. And so she was [00:12:04] fired. And so then she sued them and me [00:12:07] too. I don't know why. And [00:12:09] >> yeah, why would she sue you? You [00:12:11] >> I have nothing [laughter] to do with [00:12:12] county employment, you know, nothing. [00:12:14] But yeah, it was cascading kind of. But [00:12:18] um [00:12:20] that's what really what brought me [00:12:21] closer to Jesus was just going through [00:12:23] the fire. And it was scary. I wasn't [00:12:26] worried about the money per se. But I [00:12:29] mean, you think about it, people can sue [00:12:30] you and take your home away. They can [00:12:32] take everything. [00:12:33] >> Yeah. They can really wreck your life. [00:12:35] >> They can wreck your life. And they have [00:12:36] to, you know, the lefties go after [00:12:40] >> people that are standing. [00:12:42] >> They don't want anyone standing for [00:12:43] Jesus. And so, and they've destroyed so [00:12:46] many lives. Um, I didn't necessarily [00:12:49] um worry too much about that, I guess. [00:12:53] But, you know, in a tiny town, Lo has [00:12:56] 3,000 people, so we're a small town [00:12:58] >> and we know almost everybody. Um, [00:13:03] when we were going through the the [00:13:05] public library lawsuit, I did I had [00:13:08] immediately checked the high school [00:13:10] because my daughter had just graduated a [00:13:12] few years earlier. And so I checked [00:13:14] immediately and they had way worse books [00:13:17] than the public library, believe it or [00:13:19] not. [00:13:20] >> And so, but I was, you know, I was [00:13:23] telling God because I always tell God [00:13:25] what I think he should do. Do you ever [00:13:27] do that? [00:13:27] >> Yeah. Well, [laughter] yeah. So, I was [00:13:30] just saying, "Okay, God, send me a [00:13:31] helper and I will instruct them, inform [00:13:34] them, engage them, and we'll get the [00:13:36] books out of the school, too." [00:13:38] >> But that was not what God had in mind. [00:13:41] And so, I waited literally for two years [00:13:44] before I ever went after the high [00:13:46] school. [00:13:47] >> And um yeah, so I challenged 38 books at [00:13:51] the high school. [00:13:52] >> And the principal or the superintendent [00:13:54] called me. His son graduated with my [00:13:56] daughter. My daughter's graduating class [00:13:58] had 113 students. So small. [00:14:01] >> Yeah. [00:14:01] >> And we know all of them. Four of the [00:14:03] school board members had a child in my [00:14:06] daughter's graduating class and the [00:14:08] superintendent and the superintendent [00:14:10] secretary. And so um you know we know [00:14:13] these people and I know them to be good [00:14:16] people [00:14:17] even maybe identify as Christians but [00:14:21] knowing the right thing to do and having [00:14:23] the courage to stand and do it. Those [00:14:25] are com two completely different things. [00:14:27] >> Right. Right. Yeah. And um you know it's [00:14:31] interesting is the idea of this [00:14:33] spiritual battle. I've mentioned this on [00:14:34] the podcast before but it's you know [00:14:36] it's Revelations 12, right? And when [00:14:41] Satan lost that battle to Michael and he [00:14:43] fell to earth, it says he was enraged [00:14:46] and he went off to make war against [00:14:48] those who keep God's command and hold [00:14:50] fast to their testimony in Jesus Christ. [00:14:53] and that the spiritual battle that we're [00:14:55] waging, [00:14:57] it's so prevalent in all these different [00:14:59] areas and in particular the war on [00:15:02] children and it's between trafficking [00:15:05] and the materials in the schools and [00:15:08] what's happening, you know, to our [00:15:10] children in America. But the good news [00:15:13] is that in that same chapter, he says [00:15:16] that they overcame by the blood of the [00:15:18] lamb, the word of their testimony, and [00:15:20] that they were not afraid uh to die, [00:15:23] basically. And that's what we see in [00:15:26] America today. We're really good at, [00:15:28] hey, the blood of the lamb, you got to [00:15:30] get saved. And then sharing your [00:15:31] testimony. Oh, man. That's good. But we [00:15:33] do it inside the church. Very rare do we [00:15:36] see people out, you know? There we go. [00:15:38] And then, but that third piece is so [00:15:40] critical. And what it boils down to is [00:15:42] being willing to pay a price even if [00:15:44] it's your own life. It's courage. That's [00:15:45] right. [00:15:46] >> It's courage to stand up and do the [00:15:47] right thing. And what we see so often [00:15:49] and you just described it is we there's [00:15:51] probably good people [00:15:53] >> in office in some of these schoolboard, [00:15:55] but they not all of them lack the [00:15:57] courage to do the right thing. Well, and [00:16:01] you know, I go back to my favorite [00:16:02] scripture, Joshua 1:9. [00:16:04] >> And I when I speak, I always [00:16:08] say the scripture, be strong and [00:16:09] courageous. Do not be terrified. Do not [00:16:11] be discouraged. The Lord your God goes [00:16:13] with you wherever you go. But then I [00:16:15] tell people, did anybody in the room [00:16:17] notice I left out part of that [00:16:19] scripture? Because really that's the [00:16:21] only part of the scripture that's [00:16:22] glamorized all on wall art, t-shirts, [00:16:26] coffee mugs, my Bible cover, you know, [00:16:29] >> and so, but the part I left off, you of [00:16:31] course know, [00:16:32] >> have I not commanded you? [00:16:35] >> Be strong and courageous. Do not be [00:16:37] terrified. Do not be discouraged. The [00:16:39] Lord your God goes with you wherever you [00:16:40] go. And it goes back to what I just [00:16:43] said. We are fighting on the winning [00:16:44] team. But [00:16:47] it's not how we wake up tomorrow [00:16:50] morning. Do we feel strong and [00:16:51] courageous? [00:16:53] If we don't, guess what? We still have [00:16:54] to go fight. We have to go to school [00:16:56] boards. We have to run for office. [00:16:57] Maybe. I don't know what God is telling [00:16:59] your listeners, but your listeners know. [00:17:02] And so, I just say, listen for God's [00:17:04] still small voice. And it may be [00:17:07] hopefully not that you have to go reborn [00:17:09] in public, right? Because that's kind of [00:17:11] that's kind of hard. [00:17:12] >> It's not fun, folks. [00:17:13] >> But it doesn't matter. It's whatever God [00:17:15] tells us to do, [00:17:16] >> right? [00:17:17] >> We are to lean into it and we will have [00:17:19] the most joyful life, the most fulfilled [00:17:22] life that that we're supposed to have. [00:17:25] The life that God created for us [00:17:27] >> and us for. [00:17:28] >> So good. [00:17:30] >> Hey, wanted to take a quick break from [00:17:32] the show to tell you about one of our [00:17:34] sponsors, CDF Supply C. So go to [00:18:26] CDF Supply Co. wear your faith boldly. [00:18:29] Be on the lookout for new apparel drops [00:18:32] coming soon. Now, let's get back to the [00:18:34] show. [snorts] [00:18:36] >> So, okay. So, you're this lawsuit in Lo, [00:18:40] >> multiple lawsuits at this point that [00:18:41] you're involved in. [00:18:43] >> What was the outcome of those cases? [00:18:46] >> So, God sent us an amazing warrior named [00:18:49] Jonathan Mitchell to um to defend us and [00:18:53] we had to pay because Lano County [00:18:56] covered um my expenses. There were three [00:18:59] people from the library advisory board [00:19:01] sued. three out of 13. And so, um, the [00:19:04] library advisory board kind of fell [00:19:07] under the Lo County. They just felt like [00:19:09] they had appointed us. They should [00:19:10] defend us. And so, but the Lano County [00:19:14] insurance would not pay to defend this [00:19:17] lawsuit. In fact, what they told what [00:19:19] the insurance company told Lano was, [00:19:22] "Put the books back and settle the [00:19:24] suit." And now, that's interesting. [00:19:27] We'll we'll put that on the shelf for a [00:19:28] second. But um so we went we lost in [00:19:32] Austin in federal district court. Of [00:19:34] course we knew we would and then we [00:19:36] appealed to the fifth circuit. They [00:19:38] heard us in a bank of three, a panel of [00:19:40] three first and had a very [00:19:42] discombobulated ruling. So we appealed [00:19:45] for an onbunk hearing which means before [00:19:47] the full court and everyone laughed at [00:19:50] us and said they're never going to hear [00:19:51] you. They they hear three cases a year [00:19:55] >> from the whole fifth circuit. thousands [00:19:57] and thousands of appeals. They hear [00:19:59] three. Well, guess what? They heard Lano [00:20:01] County. That was the third one for 2023. [00:20:05] >> Wow. [00:20:05] >> And so, um, or 20, it was 2024, sorry. [00:20:09] And so, in 2025, um, May 23rd of 2025, [00:20:14] they came out with a magnificent ruling. [00:20:16] When Jonathan Mitchell argued the case, [00:20:18] he argued that library curation is [00:20:21] actually government speech. The [00:20:24] government buys the books. the [00:20:25] government chooses which books to buy. [00:20:27] The government can then change their [00:20:29] mind on which books to have on the [00:20:31] shelves. And so he made a a very crafty [00:20:33] argument about government it being [00:20:35] government speech. The fifth circuit in [00:20:39] May in their ruling they threw out a a [00:20:42] ruling that they had issued 30 years [00:20:44] before in Campbell versus Tamony Parish [00:20:48] School Board. They threw out their own [00:20:50] ruling and they said we ruled in error [00:20:52] 30 years ago. kind of like what they did [00:20:54] with Ro v. Wade. [00:20:55] >> Wow. [00:20:56] >> And um they overturned that and they [00:20:58] said that Lando County had the right to [00:21:01] uh remove any book they wanted at any [00:21:03] time they wanted for any reason they [00:21:05] wanted. And um my favorite quote from [00:21:08] that ruling is from Kyle Duncan. He's a [00:21:11] Trump appointee. Amazing man. He said, [00:21:15] "Take a deep breath everyone. No one is [00:21:18] banning or burning books. If you cannot [00:21:20] find a book you want at your local [00:21:22] library, you can always buy it with your [00:21:24] own money. [00:21:26] >> And that's what this is about. [00:21:28] Taxpayerfunded filth. [00:21:31] >> Do we continue funding it or do we [00:21:34] pivot? And I say we need to pivot. [00:21:37] >> Yeah. 100%. We need to pivot. [00:21:40] >> So, so the ruling in that case, did it [00:21:44] um is it is the case still active or is [00:21:45] it like is it there has been? Okay. So, [00:21:48] well, it was we were happy with the [00:21:50] ruling. Of course, we we prevailed. The [00:21:53] seven people who sued Lano County and [00:21:55] me, they appealed to the US Supreme [00:21:57] Court and the US Supreme Court on [00:22:00] December 8th, this past December 8th, [00:22:03] said they would not hear the case. [00:22:05] Generally, it's because they agree with [00:22:07] the lower court ruling. You know, they [00:22:09] they think the lower court got it right, [00:22:10] so they don't need to rehear it, which [00:22:13] is all good. Um, so it's a a big victory [00:22:16] for libraries everywhere everywhere. But [00:22:20] also, um, I think, you know, there's two [00:22:22] cases that are kind of pending, kind of [00:22:25] working their way up. One of them is at [00:22:27] the 10th Circuit in Colorado and [00:22:30] Jonathan Mitchell is defending that [00:22:32] school district that was sued for [00:22:33] removing 19 books. Lo County removed 17. [00:22:37] This Elizabeth school district in [00:22:39] Colorado removed 19 books. Worse than [00:22:42] Lano's books. Lo's, you know, it was [00:22:44] just the very beginning when I saw that [00:22:46] first picture, Colby. I thought that was [00:22:48] the worst picture I would ever see. [00:22:51] >> Well, it's not even close. Wow. [00:22:52] >> Not even close. [00:22:54] >> And so, um, there's another case in the [00:22:58] eighth circuit in Iowa that's also [00:23:00] working its way up. So, we believe that [00:23:03] within the next two to three years, [00:23:05] there will be a case at the US Supreme [00:23:07] Court that finally settles this once and [00:23:10] for all. that content with extreme [00:23:13] sexual graphic sex organs, sex acts, sex [00:23:17] with animals, sex with dead bodies. I [00:23:20] mean, all these things that we have in [00:23:21] our school books [00:23:23] that that is no longer necessary. It [00:23:28] isn't necessary now, but the Supreme [00:23:30] Court really needs to rule in on that [00:23:32] and and set a a nationwide precedent for [00:23:35] us. [00:23:35] >> I agree. I agree. It sounds like that's [00:23:37] what's happening. [00:23:38] >> Yes. Praise God. as we speak. So, we [00:23:40] need to continue to pray for that. [00:23:42] >> Um, but so [00:23:44] there's been a few years since Lo and [00:23:47] you have been a road warrior. [00:23:49] >> Yes. [00:23:50] >> You have been speaking really across the [00:23:53] country. That's right. [00:23:54] >> I mean, not just Texas, really across [00:23:55] the country. [00:23:56] >> How many school boards? How many? [00:23:59] >> Well, my best number is 164, I believe. [00:24:03] That's right. It could be a few higher [00:24:04] because um but that's plenty. It's not [00:24:08] that many actually. I mean, the number [00:24:09] is a big pretty big number. But think [00:24:12] about it this way. Texas has 1,27 [00:24:15] school districts. [00:24:17] >> So, I'm barely at 15%. [00:24:21] >> I have a lot of work to do. [00:24:22] >> Yes. And you know, look, we did an [00:24:24] episode um our first episode actually [00:24:26] was with Shannon S. I love her. [00:24:28] >> The education director for CDF in Texas. [00:24:31] And um [00:24:32] >> we it was interesting when um we put [00:24:36] that episode. But we got a lot of [00:24:38] comments and one of the things that [00:24:42] that I saw that was brought up was this [00:24:44] idea that um you know this is isolated. [00:24:48] It's just a few libraries. You guys are [00:24:50] painting with a broad brush. This is not [00:24:52] happening. This is not taking place. You [00:24:54] know, stop doing this type deal. Is that [00:24:57] the is that the case? What have you [00:24:59] seen? Well, the fact is that I've been [00:25:01] in over 2,000 school libraries online [00:25:04] and I have not found one clean library. [00:25:08] >> So, not one library that doesn't have [00:25:10] filth in it. [00:25:12] >> So, I would say it's very prevalent. [00:25:14] >> Wow. [00:25:14] >> That's my experience. Sad, but true. [00:25:17] >> Wow. And there's something else that [00:25:18] you've I've heard you say um and [00:25:22] [clears throat] you say and it's [00:25:24] actually really powerful, but it's [00:25:25] because it's true. [00:25:28] Tell us about the library book list for [00:25:31] the Texas prisons. [00:25:33] >> Yeah, I was very shocked. I I go out and [00:25:36] speak at school boards often with [00:25:38] pastors. And so, Pastor Richard Vega [00:25:40] from Houston brought a young man to a [00:25:43] San Antonio school district to speak one [00:25:46] day. And I had never met him before. I [00:25:48] usually meet ahead of time with the [00:25:50] folks that are going to be reading. [00:25:52] Sometimes there's new ones. I don't know [00:25:53] what they feel comfortable reading. you [00:25:55] know, they may want to talk about [00:25:57] suicide or um you know, not graphic. And [00:26:02] so I have to get a feel. I bring a lot [00:26:04] of books. And so I was handing out book [00:26:07] reports to the people I knew. And this [00:26:09] young man, David Stoker, um brand new, [00:26:12] >> he said, um, "Yes, ma'am. I want to read [00:26:16] a book." And I said, "Great." I said, [00:26:17] "David, are you comfortable reading [00:26:20] really graphic sex or you know?" And he [00:26:23] said, "Miss Bonnie, I was 10 years in [00:26:26] prison. I can read anything you got." So [00:26:29] I said, "Great." So I gave him a book [00:26:32] and I actually gave him the book to read [00:26:34] that I was recently kicked out of [00:26:35] Houston, you know, with three police [00:26:38] officers taken out for reading. Same [00:26:40] book. That book is in almost every [00:26:42] single school. If that book has been [00:26:44] removed from many schools because of my [00:26:47] advocacy because people watch me on [00:26:50] social media reading it and a lot of [00:26:52] schools have removed that single book. [00:26:54] But the book is the fifth in a series of [00:26:58] five, book six and is coming out in [00:27:01] October, book seven in January. So get [00:27:04] ready for Morfield. But uh so I gave him [00:27:07] that book and um when it was his turn to [00:27:10] read, he got up to the microphone and [00:27:13] he's a young man and um he started [00:27:16] reading and it's so [00:27:19] filthy that I guess he had not maybe [00:27:22] kind of skimmed it before he got up to [00:27:24] the microphone, but he started reading [00:27:26] it and he literally began to weep. [00:27:29] >> Wow. [00:27:29] >> And it it got so quiet in the room. [00:27:32] There were about 250 people give or take [00:27:34] in the room and everybody was just [00:27:36] watching and listening to his anguish [00:27:39] because he was he was really weeping [00:27:43] >> and um it was very hard to listen to but [00:27:46] he collected himself and he told the [00:27:48] school board he said I have two [00:27:51] daughters one's 12 and one's 13 and I [00:27:56] cannot believe I have to stand up here [00:27:57] and ask you to remove this but he said [00:28:00] let me tell you I spent 10 years in [00:28:02] prison. This book would not be allowed [00:28:05] in prison. And so he was done that, you [00:28:08] know, that evening when everyone else [00:28:09] had spoken. He came up and he apologized [00:28:11] to me and I said, "No, David, you were [00:28:13] amazing. You were so authentic and [00:28:16] anguished and it's beautiful." But I [00:28:19] said, "Tell me about the prison list." [00:28:21] And so he began telling me that anything [00:28:23] with graphic that book actually wouldn't [00:28:25] be disqualified because I sent it to the [00:28:28] prison because I I found a person in [00:28:30] prison that I can mail books to and I [00:28:32] thought that one would qualify. But it's [00:28:34] actually anything with graphic illegal [00:28:36] acts, [00:28:37] >> rape, [00:28:38] >> okay, [00:28:38] >> incest, sex with animals, sex with dead [00:28:41] bodies, mullation. Listen, Colby, we [00:28:44] have all those five things in our [00:28:46] schools. [00:28:47] >> I know. [00:28:48] >> It's shocking. A brand new book recently [00:28:50] came out about maybe six weeks ago. It's [00:28:53] called Cibiline by Melissa Dela Cruz. [00:28:56] She's a very popular artist, author. Um [00:29:00] it has a a threesome with a dead body. [00:29:03] 14y olds, [00:29:04] >> y'all. [00:29:05] >> Wow. [00:29:05] >> What are we doing? We have to do better. [00:29:08] And you know, so many of the books, I've [00:29:10] found like nine now that have [00:29:12] disclaimers on the publishers page. So [00:29:15] the first one I found says, "The authors [00:29:17] and publisher expressly disclaim [00:29:19] responsibility for any adverse effects [00:29:22] which may result from the use or [00:29:24] application of the information contained [00:29:26] in this book." Right underneath that, [00:29:28] Random House children's books. That [00:29:31] particular book is called Let's Talk [00:29:33] About It. It was the 2022 great graphic [00:29:36] novel of the year, book of the year for [00:29:38] 12 year olds. [00:29:40] >> Getting awards. It tells um 12-year-old [00:29:43] children, look up interviews with your [00:29:44] favorite porn performers. Go to the [00:29:46] sites they recommend and pay for your [00:29:49] porn. And so um but it tells me the [00:29:52] publishers know what they're doing if [00:29:54] they're putting a disclaimer, right? [00:29:56] >> Wow. And there's other you talk is that [00:29:59] there's another book too that takes kids [00:30:01] to QR codes. [00:30:03] >> Yes. [00:30:03] >> Do you know what what's the name of that [00:30:04] book? [00:30:04] >> That book's called Trans Plus. It's by [00:30:06] Katherine Gonzal uh Katherine Gonzalez. [00:30:09] It has 75 QR codes. So, one of the QR [00:30:13] codes takes you to a sex shop to buy sex [00:30:17] toys, dilds, [00:30:19] and all these things. This book is for [00:30:21] 12-year-old children, and it's all over [00:30:23] Texas. It's illegal in Texas now because [00:30:26] of SB13. [00:30:28] We we deliberately got QR codes and [00:30:31] websites included in that bill so that [00:30:34] any book that takes these kids like [00:30:36] outside of the book to a nefarious [00:30:39] location whether it be via a QR code or [00:30:42] a website um it's not allowed but the [00:30:45] books are still everywhere [00:30:47] >> right and so uh one one of the videos [00:30:50] they've taken down the video but it took [00:30:53] you to two trans [00:30:57] they were they were women that wanted to [00:30:59] be men. So, they had strapped on fake D [00:31:01] and they were having sex. It was [00:31:03] literally to a video. It's been taken [00:31:05] down. [00:31:06] >> Wow. [00:31:06] >> Um, but listen, books are not a safe [00:31:11] space right now. [00:31:13] >> I think they will be again, but at the [00:31:16] moment, I would not turn your kids loose [00:31:18] in a library. [00:31:19] >> Right. [00:31:22] Wow. Well, shifting gears, you um you [00:31:26] actually collaborated uh with a young [00:31:28] lady named Vanessa Civage and uh helped [00:31:31] kind of launch uh what's called Behind [00:31:33] the Shelves. What can you talk about [00:31:36] that? What is that? Um how how is that [00:31:39] helping uh people? [00:31:40] >> Well, I think it is helping. Uh Vanessa [00:31:42] Civage was the nurse who was fired from [00:31:45] Texas Children's Hospital when she blew [00:31:47] the whistle about transgender [00:31:50] procedures. M [00:31:52] >> and so um she I met her at the capital [00:31:56] at the Texas capital. We would often be [00:31:58] testifying the same day and often our [00:32:00] bills were actually in the same [00:32:02] committee and so we would you know be [00:32:05] testifying and she came up to me and she [00:32:08] said are the books that you've been [00:32:11] reading are they really in the schools [00:32:13] because she couldn't believe it. It's [00:32:14] it's hard to believe. And so I said yes. [00:32:18] And so she said, "Well, you know, a few [00:32:20] months later, she said, 'I want to do um [00:32:23] like a video about the books. Can you [00:32:25] can you would you participate?" I of [00:32:27] course. Listen, I'm always ready to talk [00:32:30] about the book problem with anybody. And [00:32:33] so we by the time we started the video, [00:32:36] she said, "I want it to be a series and [00:32:39] I I want a new initiative for her [00:32:41] protecting Texas children um [00:32:43] organization and it's called Behind the [00:32:46] Shelves." And so we I went and it took, [00:32:49] you know, I I don't remember, several [00:32:51] days. We we did all the videos and I [00:32:54] just showed them book after book after [00:32:56] book. And so many people have downloaded [00:32:59] that um the videos, but also the book [00:33:03] list. She doesn't have a complete book [00:33:05] list, by the way. I don't even have a [00:33:07] complete book list. I find new books [00:33:08] every day. [00:33:09] >> Oh, I know. 2033 [00:33:12] is on my book list today, but um it [00:33:16] grows all the time. It never shrinks. It [00:33:18] only grows. And so there's still more [00:33:21] work to do. [00:33:22] >> I know there's all these lists out [00:33:23] there. We have a a resource on [00:33:25] citizensdefendingfreedom.com [00:33:28] and uh if you go to our resource library [00:33:31] and do education, we have a national [00:33:33] list on there and it's just staggering. [00:33:38] It's it doesn't even it's still a big [00:33:40] list, but you know, it's almost like [00:33:42] we're still discovering these books that [00:33:45] are out there. [00:33:46] >> I'm in a I'm in a signal group uh chat [00:33:49] group with people from all over the US [00:33:52] who have the same problem. And there's [00:33:54] one man that every Tuesday he gives a [00:33:57] list of all the books that were [00:33:59] published. Apparently books are [00:34:00] published on Tuesdays. I didn't know [00:34:02] that. And so every Tuesday he publishes [00:34:05] books that have questionable content. [00:34:07] Now, we haven't read them because they [00:34:09] may be just published, but they haven't [00:34:11] been sold yet. [00:34:12] >> And a lot of schools, by the way, they [00:34:16] buy books that haven't even been [00:34:17] published yet. [00:34:19] >> And so, how can that be good, right? [00:34:22] >> If you've never read it and no one, you [00:34:24] know, has read it, I would say pause on [00:34:27] that and wait because the books are so [00:34:30] so harmful. just um [00:34:34] Texas Public Policy Foundation [00:34:36] foundation did I asked them to do some [00:34:38] research on the effects of pornography [00:34:40] on the brain and they they didn't do any [00:34:43] research but what they did was they [00:34:46] figured out that there had been a lot of [00:34:47] research so they gave me several sheets [00:34:50] of all of this research that had already [00:34:52] been done the harmful effects of [00:34:54] pornography on the brain and so they [00:34:56] sent it to me with a caveat and that [00:34:59] caveat was that all the research that's [00:35:02] ever been done has been done on adults, [00:35:05] right? Because who's going to, oh, here [00:35:07] I'll donate my child. You can put them [00:35:09] through the, you know, in inculcate them [00:35:12] with porn and see if it affects them. I [00:35:15] don't think any parent would want to do [00:35:16] that, [00:35:17] >> right? [00:35:17] >> But um so it changes the pathways of [00:35:22] your brain literally. And so, um, you [00:35:26] know what I tell school boards when I go [00:35:28] speak is that when we are sending out [00:35:31] our children addicted to pornography, [00:35:34] they will never have a normal sexual [00:35:36] relationship ever because their idea of [00:35:39] what sex looks like is so perverted and [00:35:42] so distorted that they think it's [00:35:44] normal, but you know, wife after wife [00:35:47] after wife and sometimes it's the girls. [00:35:49] So husband after husband after husband, [00:35:51] they can't tolerate it because it's so [00:35:54] perverted and so distorted. [00:35:56] >> And so we have to do better. But it is [00:35:58] an attack on the family, [00:36:01] >> right? [00:36:01] >> And so what do we do? We stand, [00:36:03] >> right? We stand. [00:36:05] So let's shift gears to Houston ISD. [00:36:08] This is kind of the latest uh thing [00:36:11] that's happened [00:36:13] >> in your journey, in your odyssey. [00:36:15] [laughter] [00:36:16] Um, so you were at Houston ISD [00:36:19] schoolboard meeting, the largest, by the [00:36:21] way, largest ISD [00:36:22] >> in Texas. [00:36:23] >> In Texas, right? Um, how did you end up [00:36:26] at the board meeting? This was what, [00:36:28] March 19th? [00:36:29] >> March 19th. So, I had actually spoken at [00:36:32] Houston uh previously and um but [00:36:39] between the last time I had spoken and [00:36:41] March 19th of this year, the Texas the [00:36:44] state of Texas had taken over the school [00:36:47] district, right? Two and a half years [00:36:49] ago, the the state of Texas took over [00:36:52] because the the test scores were so bad [00:36:54] and there's a bunch of criteria that [00:36:57] have to fit into it. But the state of [00:36:59] Texas took over. So the seven trustees [00:37:02] are no longer elected trustees. [00:37:05] >> They are appointed by the governor's [00:37:07] people basically. I believe appointed by [00:37:10] Mike Morath and so who was appointed by [00:37:13] the governor [00:37:14] >> but um doc uh pastor Richard Vega asked [00:37:18] me to come again. Um Vanessa Civage was [00:37:20] there, Dr. Rick Scarbor was there, uh [00:37:23] Denise Bell's Moms for Liberty in Harris [00:37:25] County was there and others. And um you [00:37:29] know we had kind of strategized because [00:37:32] how impactful would that be if we go to [00:37:36] speak at Houston and these appointed [00:37:38] trustees say what in the world we have [00:37:41] to do better. Let's get rid of the [00:37:43] books. Right. That was kind of what we [00:37:45] were anticipating. [00:37:46] >> That's what we were hoping for. That's [00:37:48] probably what you hope for when you walk [00:37:50] into every school board meeting. [00:37:51] >> Amen. Amen. Yes. [laughter] Jesus. [00:37:53] Listen up. That's exactly what I hope [00:37:56] for. uh hardly happens. It's happened [00:37:58] occasionally, so that's a good thing. [00:38:00] But um no, so Houston when I, you know, [00:38:04] Houston's process, [00:38:06] >> if we just take a step back, Houston's [00:38:08] process to sign up is so rigorous. It is [00:38:11] like a bar exam. It's so hard to sign [00:38:15] up. [00:38:16] >> And that's intentional. They don't [00:38:18] necessarily want people speaking. But we [00:38:20] went through the process. I showed up to [00:38:22] speak. It was my turn. I walked forward. [00:38:25] They gave us one minute. It's hard to, [00:38:27] you know, say a lot in one minute. [00:38:29] >> Even if you're a local taxpayer, even if [00:38:31] like your child's in the school [00:38:32] district, it's a one minute. [00:38:33] >> Everybody had one minute because there's [00:38:35] so many people that want to speak that [00:38:37] there's a you know, [00:38:39] >> they put a limit. [00:38:39] >> They put a limit. Got [00:38:40] >> I think that I think we need a a law [00:38:43] that addresses that because I don't [00:38:45] think that's enough time. But [00:38:46] nonetheless, I knew it going in. I knew [00:38:48] I had a minute and so I just started [00:38:50] reading um direct from the book. That's [00:38:54] all I said. I did um mention to the the [00:38:59] super or the um schoolboard president [00:39:03] wasn't present that day. So the vice [00:39:05] president was administering the meeting. [00:39:08] Okay. So she I I said if there are [00:39:12] children present um [00:39:14] >> they need to leave the the audience. And [00:39:17] she said she started banging the oh no [00:39:19] no you can't read anything that's [00:39:21] inappropriate. And I said, "Ah, [00:39:23] inappropriate. Why is it in the high [00:39:26] school libraries if it's inappropriate?" [00:39:28] It's [00:39:28] >> like she makes they make the case for [00:39:30] you. [00:39:30] >> I know. I know. They always do. [00:39:32] >> Wow. [00:39:33] >> So, um, I just started reading a few [00:39:35] words and she started freaking out and [00:39:37] then I kept reading a few more words and [00:39:39] she's like, "No, no, you're in [00:39:40] violation." And so, please escort her [00:39:43] out. So, three police officers [00:39:47] come to walk me out of the auditorium, [00:39:50] then out of the building, and then to my [00:39:53] car and told me they had to film me [00:39:55] leaving the premises. Now, I'm with [00:39:58] other people there. I wasn't alone. So, [00:40:00] I drove off without anybody else and we [00:40:03] had to meet up, you know, elsewhere. [00:40:05] But the interesting thing is I'm a 59 [00:40:09] year old woman now. I was 58 at the [00:40:11] time, but [00:40:13] the truth that comes out of my mouth is [00:40:15] so scary that three police officers [00:40:19] have to walk me off the premises. [00:40:21] >> Wow. [00:40:22] >> They do not want truth to be told and [00:40:25] they're embarrassed by the content and [00:40:27] they should be, [00:40:28] >> right? [00:40:28] >> And so what's been done? Well, um, not [00:40:32] much. I did check a couple weeks ago, [00:40:35] one of the three high schools has [00:40:36] removed the book. the other two it's [00:40:39] still there. [00:40:41] >> Wow. So they basically um [00:40:45] I think this is a classic first [00:40:46] amendment case. So what steps have you [00:40:50] taken since that? Um from what I [00:40:53] understand you've working with remnant [00:40:56] law. [00:40:56] >> I am. [00:40:57] >> And you have um [00:41:00] you've filed a lawsuit against the [00:41:03] school district. Is that accurate? [00:41:05] >> Yes. I was very hesitant to do so [00:41:07] because um I'm a conservative. [00:41:09] Conservative people don't go out and sue [00:41:11] people, right? But I think we need to [00:41:15] re-evaluate our playlist. The Democrats [00:41:17] use lawfare against us [00:41:20] >> and it's it's pretty effective and [00:41:22] that's not necessarily the way we fight [00:41:25] our battles. And so I actually had 12 [00:41:28] attorneys call me. Um some of them I [00:41:31] didn't even know who they were. Um, [00:41:33] several emailed me, not necessarily [00:41:35] called, but 12 total, and said, "This is [00:41:38] a very clear violation of the first of [00:41:41] your first amendment rights. You need to [00:41:43] sue. You need to sue. You need to sue." [00:41:45] And so I I talked to my attorney, [00:41:47] Jonathan Mitchell, and he's like, "Yes, [00:41:49] clear violation. Pursue it. I don't have [00:41:52] time to to help you, but and not my [00:41:54] forte anyway." And so, um, I did talk to [00:41:58] Jonathan Hulahan with Remnant Law and he [00:42:01] he agreed definitely we need to do this. [00:42:05] Um Brad Dus with Pacific Justice [00:42:08] Institute has has asked to join the [00:42:11] lawsuit and um so I think there's still [00:42:14] parts moving. But basically, here is [00:42:18] what my prayer is. [00:42:21] That God will use this to first remove [00:42:24] the books so that the children are [00:42:26] protected because that's ultimately [00:42:27] always my goal. [00:42:29] >> But also in a way that other [00:42:33] jurisdictions are watching and learning [00:42:36] and you know maybe fearing. We don't [00:42:39] necessarily want everyone to fear [00:42:41] everything, but if you are doing things [00:42:44] that detrimentally harm children, you [00:42:47] should fear. And so, um, not me, but [00:42:51] let's fear God and have the beginning of [00:42:54] wisdom. That would be good, [00:42:56] >> right? Absolutely. And and you know, [00:42:57] because I think for so long, a lot of [00:43:00] the school districts um [00:43:04] let's just say the some of the bad ones [00:43:06] and stuff, they have they have a lot of [00:43:08] power [00:43:08] >> and they're very arrogant. [00:43:09] >> They have a tremendous amount of power [00:43:11] and they can be very arrogant. Like you [00:43:14] almost like untouchable. [00:43:16] >> Well, think about it this way. if if I [00:43:19] didn't sue and Houston got away with it, [00:43:22] all the 1,26 other districts are [00:43:25] watching, [00:43:26] >> right? [00:43:27] >> And they're going to be saying, "Well, [00:43:28] we don't have we can do the same thing." [00:43:30] I've had my mic cut many times when I'm [00:43:33] reading. They just cut my mic off. [00:43:35] >> Um I usually just keep reading louder, [00:43:38] [laughter] [00:43:39] >> but until my time's finished, but um [00:43:42] walked out with three police officers. [00:43:44] This was the first time. And um we [00:43:47] really can't let Houston get away with [00:43:49] it because of all of the impact that [00:43:51] would have on every other jurisdiction. [00:43:54] >> Right. [00:43:54] >> So [00:43:55] >> so pray is it sets a rip it sets the [00:43:57] tone creates a ripple effect. [00:43:59] >> That's right. [00:44:00] >> So that other school districts take [00:44:01] notice that this is serious like our our [00:44:06] kids hearts and minds are at stake. It's [00:44:08] not [00:44:09] >> it's not about book banning. I love what [00:44:12] you said. You say we need to set book [00:44:14] boundaries. [00:44:15] >> That's right. [00:44:16] >> That's what it's about. Well, here's [00:44:17] protecting kids. [00:44:18] >> Not one book has been banned in America. [00:44:21] You can buy any book you want anytime [00:44:24] you want. [00:44:24] >> That's right. [00:44:25] >> You can buy it. This is about taxpayer [00:44:27] funded filth. Should my tax dollars buy [00:44:31] filth, Atlanta ISD or Atlanta Public [00:44:34] Library or anybody else's buy filth at [00:44:38] their public libraries and their school [00:44:40] libraries? And I say no. I say that [00:44:43] there has to be a consequence for doing [00:44:45] so. Um I was with the lieutenant [00:44:48] governor earlier today and we were [00:44:50] talking about what we're going to do [00:44:52] starting next session and he's like, [00:44:53] "Okay, I'm going to need your help." And [00:44:55] I said, "I'm here. Let's do it. Let's [00:44:56] hit it hard. We have to have a [00:44:59] consequence [00:45:00] >> for any any bill that gets passed and [00:45:03] signed into law. There has to be a [00:45:05] penalty if you're ignoring it because [00:45:06] that's what schools do. They just ignore [00:45:08] it." Bob said, my husband said, "What we [00:45:11] should do as a penalty is say one year [00:45:13] with no football for any town in any [00:45:16] school in Texas. [00:45:17] >> Cut the funding for the football [00:45:18] program." [00:45:19] >> No funding for football. And he said the [00:45:20] coaches would be prowling around the [00:45:23] library pulling out any bad book. Right. [00:45:25] >> Oh man. Especially in Texas. [00:45:27] >> Especially in Texas. [00:45:28] >> Yeah. Absolutely. Well, you're right. [00:45:30] And I'm glad the lieutenant governor [00:45:31] said that because a law without teeth is [00:45:35] just a suggestion. [00:45:36] >> That's right. [00:45:36] >> That's all it is. [00:45:37] >> Right. Amen. [00:45:38] >> So, [00:45:40] >> well, you've said it. I think we opened [00:45:42] with this that, you know, this isn't [00:45:45] this isn't a political battle, right? [00:45:48] This is very much a spiritual battle. [00:45:50] Very much so. And, you know, there's [00:45:53] probably people in our audience that [00:45:54] maybe get that. There might be people [00:45:56] that don't. [00:45:57] When we say stuff like that, what does [00:46:00] that mean? [00:46:02] >> Well, as a lukewarm Christian, I didn't [00:46:05] understand it either. And so I give [00:46:08] everyone grace if they don't understand [00:46:10] it because what it is is uh it's part of [00:46:14] that personal relationship that we have [00:46:17] with Jesus getting closer and closer and [00:46:19] closer. The more you spend time with [00:46:21] him, the more you want to spend time [00:46:22] with him. And the more fulfilled your [00:46:24] life is for doing his will, the more you [00:46:26] want to be fulfilled. And so but you it [00:46:30] actually gives you a different [00:46:32] viewpoint. [00:46:33] >> And I go into a battle. Listen, me and [00:46:36] Jesus, we're a majority. So, it doesn't [00:46:39] matter if I'm with someone else [00:46:41] >> because I always have the Holy Spirit [00:46:43] with me. But, um, you can, you know, the [00:46:46] Bible has stories about [00:46:49] the the warriors, you know, on the hills [00:46:53] and [00:46:54] who was it? Isaiah said, "Drop the [00:46:57] scales from his eyes so he can see." [00:46:59] >> Right? And so, um, there's many, many [00:47:03] stories about how there are legions of [00:47:06] angels helping us. And this is what [00:47:10] we're in. We are in a spiritual battle [00:47:12] between good and evil. And you may not [00:47:15] know Jesus. You know, your listeners, [00:47:19] we can introduce him to you. But if you [00:47:23] do know Jesus, just start listening to [00:47:25] him more intently. [00:47:27] Just ask him, "What do you want me to do [00:47:30] for you?" And then listen to the answer. [00:47:33] And then be obedient. That's the hardest [00:47:36] part. [00:47:37] >> Right. [laughter] Courage. [00:47:38] >> Courage. [00:47:39] >> That's right. You know, [00:47:40] >> not not not not It's a scarce commodity [00:47:43] these days, [laughter] [00:47:44] >> very. [00:47:45] >> Well, you know, Proverbs Proverbs 22:6 [00:47:48] says, "Raise up a child in the way they [00:47:50] should go. Goart from it." Right. And uh [00:47:53] but you know someone else is training [00:47:56] our children in public education and [00:47:59] it's you know they have a lot of them [00:48:01] not all of them but a lot of them have a [00:48:04] very different way [00:48:06] >> of thinking or a different idea of what [00:48:08] that should look like. So you know what [00:48:11] do you think is the agenda behind [00:48:13] placing this kind of content in front of [00:48:15] our kids and like what's what's the long [00:48:16] game? What does it lead to? [00:48:19] Well, I think it's pretty obvious to me [00:48:22] when I look at the pictures in the [00:48:24] books. Listen, I have a book. I don't [00:48:27] know if I've showed it to you. It is [00:48:29] called Do Animals Fall in Love. And it's [00:48:32] a a red cover, very beautiful little [00:48:36] animals. And it's for four three to [00:48:39] seven year olds. Three to seven year [00:48:41] olds. And it says on one page, it has [00:48:44] three whitetail deer mating. So, it has [00:48:47] a dough on the bottom and then one buck [00:48:50] on top of her and then another buck on [00:48:52] top of the first buck. Well, I can [00:48:54] guarantee you that is something you will [00:48:56] never see in nature. [00:48:57] >> I've been a deer hunter. [00:48:58] >> I know. [00:48:59] >> Since I all my life my daddy took me out [00:49:02] to the deer. I've sat in blinds. I've [00:49:03] spent hours. I've [00:49:05] >> Yep. [00:49:05] >> You know, I've hunted deer and animals [00:49:07] all I've never seen that. [00:49:08] >> No. And you will never see it because [00:49:10] nature those two bucks will fight even [00:49:13] sometimes to the death but they will [00:49:16] never share a dough ever. And so um [00:49:22] you'll never see that because only the [00:49:24] human mind is perverted [00:49:26] >> not nature. And they are trying to [00:49:29] pervert the minds of children even by [00:49:31] now using animals showing oh look [00:49:35] animals have threes. There's nothing [00:49:37] wrong with three. That same book has 80 [00:49:40] animals. The penis size of 80 animals. [00:49:44] The red-nosed monkey. And I can't [00:49:46] remember all the ones. 80 animals. I had [00:49:49] two three-year-old children in my life. [00:49:52] Neither of them ever asked me the penis [00:49:54] size of anything. Right. [00:49:56] >> Right. Why are we planting demonic [00:49:59] thoughts into the minds of our children? [00:50:01] >> Exactly. Why teach that? Why not teach [00:50:03] about, you know, what do they eat? What [00:50:04] is their habitat? How do they coexist? [00:50:07] How do they fight off predators? Are [00:50:08] they, you know, hunter? Are they prey? [00:50:10] Are they? And they're teaching this. [00:50:13] >> Yeah, it's very weird. But if you look [00:50:16] at the agenda, which is to sacrifice [00:50:18] children, why would you want to [00:50:20] sacrifice children? Well, many of them [00:50:23] want to have sex with children. There [00:50:25] are books that [00:50:26] >> wow [00:50:27] >> minimize having sex with children. And [00:50:29] they say there's a book that Alfred [00:50:32] Kinsey wrote and one of his proteges [00:50:36] spawned off of and it talks about how a [00:50:39] child having sex with their parent, [00:50:41] there's nothing wrong with that and they [00:50:43] can get wonderful feelings of warmth and [00:50:45] intimacy. [00:50:47] >> My gosh. [00:50:48] >> Yeah. So, what's the long game? [00:50:52] Unlimited sex for everybody with [00:50:54] anybody. Period. Um, I can't think of [00:50:58] any other agenda that could possibly [00:51:02] that they could have. I I think that's [00:51:04] it. I I won't know till I get to heaven, [00:51:07] but um it's nefarious. It's dark. It's [00:51:11] demonic. And we are called to stand [00:51:14] against it. [00:51:15] >> Yeah. You know, um [00:51:19] part of our mission at Citizens [00:51:20] Defending Freedom is to equip and [00:51:22] activate the church to get involved, [00:51:25] right? that you don't that this is [00:51:28] indeed a spiritual battle. It's not [00:51:30] political and it's it has to be the body [00:51:33] of Christ that rises up in this hour to [00:51:35] take a stand against this demonic evil. [00:51:37] I mean, let's just call it what it is, [00:51:38] right? [00:51:39] >> Amen. [00:51:39] >> And so, the church in Texas, really, the [00:51:42] church in America, you know, [00:51:46] we there's some very bold pastors. [00:51:49] >> Not enough. [00:51:50] >> Those p not enough, but if you're those [00:51:51] bold pastors, I'm talking about you. But [00:51:54] a lot of pastors in the church in large [00:51:56] is quiet on this. You know why? What I [00:52:00] mean what why do you think that is? And [00:52:02] what do you say to the pastor who thinks [00:52:04] that this is too controversial to get [00:52:07] into to even talk about from the pullpit [00:52:10] to educate his congregation on what's [00:52:14] taking place in our public education? Um [00:52:16] what I mean why and what do you say to [00:52:19] that pastor? Well, I only have one thing [00:52:21] to say and it's fear of man. [00:52:24] If you fear the congregation will leave [00:52:26] if you are preaching about sin. Do you [00:52:29] know how many pastors don't even preach [00:52:31] about sin anymore? [00:52:32] >> The majority, the vast majority. [00:52:35] >> But the good news is God only needs a [00:52:37] remnant. And he doesn't even need it. He [00:52:39] just wants a remnant. He wants us to [00:52:41] partner with him. Um yeah. So if you [00:52:45] fear man and you fear that those [00:52:48] congregation members are going to leave, [00:52:50] you know that money that they put in [00:52:52] every Sunday for their one-hour worship. [00:52:57] If they are going to leave and that's [00:52:59] what you care about, then you're not [00:53:01] caring about the fear of God. You're [00:53:03] caring about the fear of man. And [00:53:05] listen, it's prevalent. I mean, um, [00:53:08] yeah, I go to I go to churches. I I've [00:53:11] been invited by many pastors to come and [00:53:14] I don't preach a sermon. I just preach, [00:53:16] you know, porn. [laughter] [00:53:19] And [00:53:20] >> you expose it. [00:53:21] >> I expose it. And I say, "This is in your [00:53:24] children's schools right now in your [00:53:27] town." They can't believe it. I mean, [00:53:28] people are just shocked. Even now, five [00:53:31] years into this battle, [00:53:32] >> I would think that everybody would know, [00:53:34] but they don't. And here's the thing. I [00:53:37] I often [00:53:39] there must be good librarians in [00:53:41] America. I have not yet met one, but [00:53:44] there must be some good ones. I can't [00:53:45] wait to meet one. [00:53:47] >> But if I was a librarian [00:53:51] and I did not know what was in my [00:53:53] library, I would start digging. [00:53:56] >> And so when librarians tell me, you [00:53:58] know, I had no idea. Well, then you need [00:54:00] to do a better job at your job because [00:54:03] in the end, protecting the minds of [00:54:06] children should be paramount above [00:54:09] everything else. We protect the [00:54:11] children. And so, um, yeah, but you're [00:54:15] right. Pastors are not being bold. [00:54:17] Pastors are fearful of losing, you know, [00:54:21] I guess, money, [00:54:23] empty seats. I don't know. But I I [00:54:26] believe that it just leads back to fear [00:54:29] of man. [00:54:32] >> You're probably right, [00:54:34] >> sadly. [00:54:34] >> So [00:54:36] for the mom and dad out there that are [00:54:39] listening and they're hearing this for [00:54:41] the first time or they're or they're [00:54:44] hearing this now and they're like, [00:54:45] "Okay, this is I've got to do [00:54:48] something." [00:54:50] Advice recommend where can they start? [00:54:53] How can they how can they begin getting [00:54:55] involved? [00:54:56] >> Yes, great question. So, if you're going [00:55:01] to look in a school library, I will tell [00:55:03] your listeners and your viewers to go to [00:55:06] takebacktheclassroom.com. [00:55:11] Karen, England has almost every school [00:55:14] in America listed on there by state. So, [00:55:17] you can scroll down to Texas and then [00:55:19] you can scroll down to Lano and you'll [00:55:22] see that at the point that she redid [00:55:24] that one about two months ago, um, we [00:55:27] added a thousand more books. By the way, [00:55:29] I gave her a list a year and a half ago [00:55:32] and my list had 325 books on it. So, [00:55:36] that's what she ran. And, um, we did a [00:55:39] fundraiser and we added 1,000 new bad [00:55:42] books. So now she's done 1325 and now [00:55:45] I'm up to 2033. [00:55:48] We we need another fundraiser. But um I [00:55:52] would say look into your school library. [00:55:54] You can find it online and um look on [00:55:59] takebacktheclassroom.com and you can [00:56:01] find the names of bad books. Many of the [00:56:04] bad books she doesn't yet have a book [00:56:06] report there for but you can find book [00:56:09] reports at ratedbooks.org. [00:56:11] That's Brook Stevens from Utah. She's an [00:56:15] amazing godly woman. Also young mother [00:56:18] um who's doing amazing things. And also [00:56:22] Vanessa Civage um behind the shelves. [00:56:25] It's protecting Texas children. The [00:56:26] initiative is behind the shelves. You [00:56:29] can go on there. She also has how to [00:56:32] challenge those books at your at your [00:56:35] school. Mhm. [00:56:36] >> So, it is illegal in Texas to have [00:56:39] anything that is profane or indecent. [00:56:41] Profane or indecent means if I cannot [00:56:44] read it on network television or at a [00:56:46] school board meeting that's profane and [00:56:49] indecent, it needs to go, right? It's [00:56:52] >> common sense, right? Not so common. But, [00:56:55] um, Vanessa has challenge forms on there [00:56:58] and different material. But, um, any of [00:57:02] your listeners can reach out to me. I [00:57:04] answer every phone call, every email, [00:57:06] and um I don't do social media. I'm [00:57:09] often on social media, but I don't do [00:57:11] social media. And so, you can't reach [00:57:13] out to me that way, but um you can put [00:57:16] my email on your [00:57:19] on the screen or something. [00:57:20] >> Absolutely. [00:57:21] >> And uh I will help you because the most [00:57:24] important part is to start. the first [00:57:27] step's the hardest and um but we can [00:57:30] protect kids together and it's going to [00:57:32] take every one of us because guess what? [00:57:35] The Calvary is not coming to save the [00:57:38] children in your community. [00:57:41] You are the Calvary. We are the Calvary. [00:57:44] So, [00:57:44] >> Amen. Amen. Well, why don't you go ahead [00:57:46] and if you want, we can put it in the [00:57:49] chat, but you want to let people know [00:57:50] how they can reach you? [00:57:52] >> Yes, absolutely. defend the kids [00:57:56] atraan.com. Dec defend the kids [00:58:00] atraan.com. You can email me. Um if I [00:58:03] don't answer right away, it's because [00:58:04] I'm occupied, but I will I answer every [00:58:07] single email and I would love to help [00:58:11] you protect the children in your [00:58:13] community. [00:58:14] >> Awesome. Yep. And we will definitely [00:58:16] we'll put that down [00:58:18] >> in the section for the comments so [00:58:20] people can see that. So, well, Bonnie, [00:58:23] um [00:58:25] any any last thing? You know, you've [00:58:26] been sued. I mean, you've been uh [00:58:28] removed by the police. You've been [00:58:30] attacked by the media. You've been [00:58:32] attacked by uh the radical uh leftists, [00:58:36] if you will. Uh you know, you've been [00:58:39] But yet, you keep going. [00:58:41] Where does that source of strength come [00:58:43] from? What does that what does that look [00:58:45] like for you? [00:58:45] >> Jesus. He's the strength of all the [00:58:49] source of all strength. But [00:58:52] let me share something else with your [00:58:55] listeners. Ephesians 5:11 says, "Have [00:58:58] nothing to do with the evil deeds of [00:59:00] darkness, but expose them." And so when [00:59:04] I discovered that verse, um, I just [00:59:07] leaned into it because I felt like it [00:59:09] was God talking to me. He often does [00:59:11] that probably to everybody, right, [00:59:13] through Bible verses. And I was like, [00:59:16] "Wow, Lord, you're talking directly to [00:59:18] me." And so I have just embraced that. [00:59:22] My job is to open eyes. My job is not to [00:59:25] convict the hearts of the school boards [00:59:27] or whoever. Um but my job is to open [00:59:31] eyes. And when I learned that, you know, [00:59:33] when I discovered that that was what God [00:59:35] was telling me to do, just open eyes, it [00:59:38] made my job a lot easier. I had thought [00:59:40] my job was to get all the books off, [00:59:42] which means that I had to convict the [00:59:44] hearts of the people to move. And then I [00:59:46] learned that was not that's God's job, [00:59:49] >> right? [00:59:49] >> And so we have to be very specific about [00:59:52] doing only the job that God gives us and [00:59:55] letting God do his part, which is all [00:59:58] the rest, right? He's is the hardest [01:00:00] part actually. And so I will I will tell [01:00:04] everybody [01:00:06] schools our schools are broken. They're [01:00:08] just broken in so many ways. And a lot [01:00:12] of the people in the school, they think [01:00:14] they're doing good. They think kids need [01:00:16] this stuff, whether it's the books or [01:00:20] abortion, drugs, and you know, there's [01:00:22] so many other things, but [01:00:25] they will not repair themselves. We have [01:00:28] to stand and we have to link arms with [01:00:31] each other, link shields, and listen, we [01:00:35] can do great things. And we are fighting [01:00:38] on the winning team. I go back to my [01:00:39] analogy because God does not want this [01:00:42] stuff accessible to children. So fight [01:00:45] with me. We can we can do great things. [01:00:48] >> Amen. And I think that's a excellent [01:00:52] spot to close at. Bonnie, thank you so [01:00:54] much. You're such a warrior. Uh you're a [01:00:57] great friend and I just I appreciate you [01:00:59] so much in all that you do and uh we're [01:01:01] behind you. We're standing with you [01:01:03] >> and uh right into battle with you. [01:01:05] >> Amen. [01:01:06] >> All right. Thank you. [01:01:07] >> Praise God. Thank you.
